Proud to Serve

Clairemont Town Council being sworn-in by San Diego City Councilmember Lorie Zapf.

Since I had the opportunity to move into this Clairemont neighborhood of San Diego, I quickly jumped at the chance to get involved. The best way I figured was to join the Clairemont Town Council.

It was a pleasure to get to know then-President Lori Sorbo last summer, and along the way meet many new friends, and as of this post, my fellow board members. In November, I was elected as Vice-President for the Clairemont Town Council and couldn’t be more excited at this new opportunity to help serve in my community.

After my first official meeting as a newly elected member, I wanted to make it a priority for the Council to fully engage our local elected officials and fellow community members in creating an open, and fair dialog about the issues that are affecting Clairemont. Whether it’s the pension crisis, the new, ninth council district, public safety, and quality-of-life issues, it’s my goal as Vice-President to bring those issues forward and help educate those wanting to be in the know.

As Chair of the Bylaws Committee, it will be a goal of mine to help revitalize and modernize the Council bylaws by working to bring in new voices, ideas, and perspectives, develop a structurally sound elections process, and identify new ways to promote and publicize the Council — all without losing focus of our collective goal of increasing our membership, and encouraging more of our neighbors to attend these meetings.

I’m excited about serving for the next year and working with you — and, for you — to show the rest of America’s Finest City what the Clairemont community is all about.

Thank you for your confidence,

Ryan Trabuco
