About Ryan Trabuco

Ryan Trabuco was recently elected to his first term as President of Clairemont Town Council in November 2011, after serving the previous year as Vice-President. The Clairemont Town Council works to promote the civic, commercial, educational, and cultural activities of Clairemont — San Diego’s largest neighborhood with 76,000 residents.

Recently, he was appointed by the Presiding Judge of the Juvenile Court to serve on the Juvenile Justice Commission which works to provide oversight of the administration and activities of the county’s juvenile justice system. He is also serving his second term on the Alcohol & Drug Advisory Board, having been appointed by Supervisor Ron Roberts in 2009.

Prior to moving to San Diego, he had served as a Santa Ana City Commissioner on that city’s Environmental & Transportation Commission, and as an Orange County Commissioner on that county’s Alcohol & Drug Advisory Board.

Trabuco is a registered Republican, and has been an ardent party volunteer over the years. He is a member of the California Republican Party’s State Central Committee, representing San Diego County.

Born and raised in Texas, Trabuco was appointed to serve on the Harris County Republican Party Central Committee soon after graduating from high school. After moving to Southern California in 2004, he was elected to the Orange County Republican Central Committee, and served until his move to San Diego where he remains active with the GOP.

Trabuco has vast campaign experience having worked and volunteered on numerous campaigns since 2000. Among the notable local campaigns, Trabuco put in time and effort for April Boling for City Council and Mayor Jerry Sanders’ re-election in 2008, as well as the Lorie Zapf for City Council and Andrew Valencia for Sweetwater School Board campaigns in 2010.

He lives in the Clairemont neighborhood of San Diego.
